The President joins U.S. Senator Bob Menendez to support his re-election campaign

EAST RUTHERFORD – Former President Bill Clinton joined U.S. Senator Robert Menendez today in New Jersey, in support of Menendez’s re-election bid to the U.S. Senate. President Clinton attended Senator Menendez’s 14th Annual Evening at the Races event at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

“I am honored to have hosted President Clinton in New Jersey,” said Menendez.  “It was exciting to have President Clinton headline my annual Pegasus event and share with him the work that I am doing every day as I fight back for New Jersey’s middle class and working families.” He added, “I’m proud of the work President Clinton and I did together in Congress during the Clinton years. We balanced the budget for the first time in a generation, had record surpluses, low unemployment, low inflation and the greatest peacetime economy in over a generation.”

“It is always great to return to New Jersey, and I am proud to be here supporting Bob Menendez’s re-election to the U.S. Senate,” said President Clinton.  “I know Bob well and admire him.  I’ve seen how hard he fights for New Jersey’s working families, and how strongly he stands up against special interests that threaten the middle class.  Bob is a good advocate for New Jersey.”
