600,000 more voters in New Jersey

Menendez for Senate and Ryan Alexander · May 21, 2018

Voting rights are under attack in Washington. President Donald Trump has repeatedly made baseless claims of voter fraud and even created a commission with the intent of suppressing the minority vote.

While the Trump administration and Republican-led states are working to suppress voter turnout, here in New Jersey, we’re thankfully taking a different approach aimed at increasing voter turnout.

One month ago, Governor Phil Murphy signed into law one of the most expansive automatic voter registration bills in the country. Thanks to Governor Murphy and the Democratic legislature, up to 600,000 more New Jersey residents could be eligible to vote.

Sign our card thanking Governor Phil Murphy and the Legislature for passing automatic voter registration reform and making New Jersey an inclusive state.

New Jersey is just the 12th state to pass automatic voter registration. Under this law, New Jersey residents will be registered to vote automatically when they apply for a driver’s license or state ID card.

But these reforms are needed nationally, too. Bob Menendez will keep fighting back against the Trump administration’s voter suppression efforts and work to make sure that every eligible citizen has the right to vote.
