New Brunswick, NJ – The Menendez for Senate campaign today announced that United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 1262, which represents more than 30,000 members, has endorsed Bob Menendez for reelection to the U.S. Senate.
“I have dedicated my entire career to making sure everyone has an equal shot at the American Dream—from fighting to grow our economy and strengthen our middle class to ensuring equal educational opportunities and quality, affordable healthcare,” said Sen. Menendez. “With Donald Trump in the White House and his far-right judges ruling to undermine unions, I pledge to continue to fight for my brothers and sisters of labor every day in Washington. We can’t let greedy, out-of-touch, drug company CEO Bob Hugin be another vote for Trump and trample on New Jersey workers.”
“You have always been a friend of labor and stood by the working people of New Jersey for decades,” wrote UFCW Local 1262 President Harvey Whille in an endorsement letter to Sen. Menendez. “There is no other candidate for Senate that can come close to matching your record.”
Sen. Menendez has a proven record fighting for hardworking families and the rights of workers to organize. He has resisted Trump Administration’s efforts to roll back workplace safety standards and spoke out against the recent Janus Supreme Court decisions that undermined unions. Menendez believes that anyone who works hard deserves fair pay and livable wage, has voted to increase the minimum wage, supports updating the Equal Pay Act, and is fighting for paid family, sick, and medical leave.
